Josh Tycko

Josh Tycko is a Ph.D. candidate in Genetics at Stanford Medicine. Here, he is systematically defining the proteins and DNA elements that control human gene expression by developing new genetic screening technologies, in the labs of Dr. Lacramiora Bintu and Dr. Michael Bassik. Josh's research is supported by the NIDDK F99/K00 fellowship and the NSF GRFP. Previously, Josh helped develop gene therapies for rare diseases using CRISPR genome editing at a biotechnology startup company. Josh serves as a mentor to Stanford iGEM and is a project lead at the Genetics Advocacy Committee. He earned a B.A. in Biological Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
